One thing I love about home ed. is the amount of free time the boys have. We often spend that time outdoors and toys don't get any more 'unformed' than sticks, rocks and leaves. Today we went to a river. They walked, swam, climbed, painted with natural materials they found themselves, made tools and medicinal pastes, looked at birds and insects close up and socialised with walkers passing by. If I were of the box ticking persuasion there'd be a lot of ticks in there....effortlessly.
