Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Free Time

When people ask why we home ed. I often feel like a rabbit caught in the headlights as there are just so, so many reasons why. It's hard to know where to start in explaining them. My super-top, no. 1 reason remains time, though. I love getting school done quickly and efficiently so that the boys have time just to be; to be with their friends, messing around at home and out in nature. I've been feeling sad lately that their extra-curricular activities are encroaching on this free, unstructured time and I'm determined to keep space in their lives. It's not a negotiable!
