Hello
Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Listening to Spring
A quiet and peaceful morning snack listening to the blackbird sing out in the garden. The blackbird who feeds from the table just outside on the deck. I enjoy having the boys around at home so that they can be here to enjoy the natural world around it. It means that rather than learning about caring for the birds only when it is time for that project they are involved in feeding the birds in our garden year round. And see the same birds daily as they play. This extends to many many other areas of life and learning, of course. They are around when we shop, garden, clean, do DIY etc etc. so hopefully they will take more and more responsibility for these as they get older just because they are here to do that more than they would be in school. Having them around encourages us to take more careful decisions about how we do things too. We are shopping much more locally than we did in the past as small shops tend to be much more enjoyable to visit with them and we are all getting to know the staff in them. Sometimes it seems we are more likely to take care of our own behaviour when we realise that through our actions we influence the next generation. Having the next generation actually around with us makes this even more apparent.
