Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Buying old books

Aren't second-hand books great? They look, feel and even smell preloved in the beat, true sense of the word. Browsing the charity shops and bric-a-brac fairs turns up some gems that I wouldn't have bought any other way. Finding things randomly adds so much richness to our collection. These are my latest finds. You can't beat the old Ladybird books. Well written, illustrated in a manner that fires the imagination and such an easy size for small hands. 'William's Day Out' is a lovely doggy adventure story by Meriol Trevor, illustrated by Raymond Briggs no less.

  1. We love the old Ladybird books and also the old history books by R.J. Unstead that I remember reading and enjoying in school. Nothing like second hand books to browse!
