Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Rain sticks

We made a giant rainstick today. They're our contribution to our local home ed. co-op tomorrow so it was a trial run. I'm finding its making the group more meaningful for us to get something ready in advance. It creates more anticipation and emphasises how important it is for everyone to contribute. The giant poster tubes came from the wonderful Borders Scrap Store. The instructions from the equally wonderful people at Childrens Classic Concerts.

Hammering nails in is so up the boys street. It slows the pasta down too, making a better watery effect.

Then, pop in the pasta,.....

....decorate....

......and tip.
