Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Visits, visits, visits!

We had an unusual day today as we didn't actually get any 'school' done. Instead we had 2 lovely visits with other local homeschoolers. The first was a session on maps and jigsaws at the John Gray Centre in Haddington. It was quite a simple session but the old local photos were interesting and the boys enjoyed doing the jigsaws with their friends.

Lots of fun at the park afterwards. I feel so happy that our local group is composed without exception of such lovely people. The boys have a wonderful community.

Then this afternoon we had a session at the Portrait Gallery with another super group in town. Here we are looking at Jacobites.

Aly's observation at dinner was that the boys portraits of each other both pretty much ended up looking actually more like themselves. An interesting angle to consider when we next visit the gallery.
