We are really lucky to have a great local countryside ranger service. One of them in particular (now known to us as 'Roger the Ranger!) has done several great activities for us. Today he took us for a walk at Woodhall Dean, a beautiful wooded gorge owned by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. He got us listening to birdsong, showed us insects, owl pellets and fox poo (which is now displayed on our dining table...) Some of the kids were lucky enough to get a fleeting glimpse of an adder. And it was sunny!
