Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

This Week

Another catch-up of stuff I intended to post during the week. This was our weekly post-art free-for-all. The actual project was painting our pinch-pots from last week using watercolour pencils (at the back here) but lots of extra fun was had afterwards....

We learned about the creation of the state of Haiti with Story of the World. This was all new to me so we really were learning together. As always lots of geography and general knowledge was gained alongside. Our bananas come from the neighbouring Dominican Republic and it was a good excuse for lots of Caribbean musician in the car.

Then today we had a great visit to a local mixed farm with the Royal Highland Education Trust. It was our best trip ever. The farmer was obviously so passionate about his work. We learned a lot, saw a lot and timed it right for helping to feed the orphaned lambs.
