Hello

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are a family of 4 and have been home educating since our eldest son would have started school in 2012. Dh and I share the H.E duties between us. We're going to try blogging partly to encourage us to reflect on what we're doing and partly to share what we're up to with anybody who may be interested. As a family we are all really enjoying home ed. so if we help in any way to support others or to help spread the word then that would be wonderful.

Structure and Randomness

I often find that our structured curriculum leads to unexpected, bonus stuff happening. Tuesday afternoons are our time to do our nature curriculum (Exploring Nature with Children) and to be honest without having that box to tick there's no way I would have got us all togged up and out in the cold, soggy, brown woods. This week was all about buds; which we all found interesting (the house is now full of twigs in water....) but mainly the boys carved ice! They loved it and got really stuck in for ages. Nothing to do with the initial planned project but it wouldn't have happened without it.

  1. I am so happy to hear that Exploring Nature is working for you! I love the photo of your sons carving ice.
    Kind regards
