Today, thanks to Artistic Pursuits, we were carving bas-reliefs in clay like the wall decorations of Mesopotamia. Both boys chose to go with the popular lion theme.
The carving was tricky! As the daughter of potters I have advice on tap, though, and am reliably informed that next time we need to let the clay dry out a lot more before carving.
Lots of fun was had with the clay after the official project, as always. Struan made a set of beads to be painted later and Aly made goblets and swords for his toy dogs!
